2017-2018 season

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied the red and blue Loops. Both were in good shape. The new snow helped a lot with the icy base. Skate deck and classic tracks were well skied in on the blue trail, not as well skied in on the red. Not sure what the conditions were like on other trails, but as of Saturday the base on the North loops was thinner and depending on the blowing and drifting there may still be some thin spots to avoid on the green and gold trails. Good skis fine for red and blue. Proceed with caution on northern trails.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
South Trails: Used our good skis on the South Parking lot end, the blue, red and green trails. The classic tracks were perfect, as were the skating lanes. Joy to ski them. Thanks to the groomers and track setters!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Skied from the North end by Three Island Lake. No classic tracks have been set as of yet, but skate deck was rolled on parts of the green and blue. Entire red trail was packed, but not tracked yet. Skate deck was somewhat soft. New snow filled in dips and once the tracks are set and the skate deck firms up should be awesome skiing.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trails were in variable shape. The blue was terrific with really good coverage and nice looking classic tracks and a firm skate deck. Other trail segments had a few thin spots and there was quite a bit of debris under the pines in places. Tracks are set but are definitely shallow and classic skiers will need to watch for bare/thin spots. Skate deck is mostly in great shape. Appears most of the trails were groomed in the last day or two making for some fast and enjoyable skiing.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Crisp but enjoyable skiing in -14F weather on Sunday afternoon. Beautiful trail, especially along the river. There was about an inch of fresh snow on top of the groomed trail. Some brush poking up in places, otherwise good coverage. Surprised to run into two other groups in our short ski! Saw lots of animal tracks, including wolf. Merry Christmas.
