2017-2018 season

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Good skiing. I used my best classic skis. There were occasional sticks but all obstacles were avoidable. I think the groomer has done an outstanding job with the trail. Classic tracks were deep and firm. Mukwonago is a gem. It's rustic and reminds me of the old days of classic on a relatively narrow rolling trail. Skate deck looked good too.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Mukwonago 2.3Km, 4.4 Km, and 7.5 Km loops were groomed today. The tracks set up very well with the colder temperatures. The skate deck on the 7.5Km loop is bumpy in places. Rock skis are recommended due to some sticks, leaves, and pine needles on the surface. The base is thin in a couple of areas, mostly in the pine tree stands. The 13.6 Km loop is not currently groomed due to trees and brush that came down 2 weeks ago when heavy snow was received. The outer loop should be cleared and ready for grooming in early January.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Mukwonago has gotten about 10-12 inches of snow in the last 2 weeks. The initial snow pushed a lot of brush and trees into the trail. Trail crews have been working diligently to remove the trees and brush. The 2.3 Km, 4.4 Km, and 7.5Km loops are cleared, rolled, groomed and tracks are set. The 16.6 Km loop still needs work before any grooming can happen. The open loops have a base of 5-6 inches. There are some areas that the base is thinner. The classic tracks set nicely today. There is some debris (sticks and leaves) on the groomed surface.
