With a brilliant blue sky above and my skin skis under foot, I enjoyed a mostly freshly groomed RFC today. The skate deck was observed as firm and level, and the classic tracks were the best they've been in years. The area has received over 20" of snow since the first of the year so the groomers have a lot to work with. Carpe Skiem!

It's great to be skiing The RFC again! I strided the double tracked Oaks, the single tracked Birches and Lit Loop under a bright blue sky in single degree temps. Any wind was barely felt in the woods. Great coverage including the beautiful cedar swamp section of the Oaks. The skate deck on the Lit Loop and Main Streets was freshly groomed. Carpe Skiem!

Classic skied every segment of the trail system Saturday afternoon after grooming was completed. Classic tracks were present throughout, although the track disappears occasionally on Pers loop. Good coverage everywhere after Friday's snow dump. I stepped out onto the skate lane a few times and it seemed a bit soft as would be expected after a snowstorm. Great skiing, even better scenery with snow clinging to trees.

Skating done on lighted loop, first part of birches, and biathlon loop. The snow is deep and soft. Groomers are working diligently to get it done. Occasional classic tracks were seen on the lighted loop. Good start to season.
