[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Fast and furious skating in 6 degree temps! Super fun skating The Oaks Trail which is normally reserved for the striders. Thinly groomed snow over an atomic ice base. No classic tracks on the entire system. Hopefully snow tonight! (There was a large snow bike event taking place earlier today -- great to everyone embracing a WI Winter!). Carpe Skiem!

Many happy faces today! Great skating throughout the park, classic tracks holding up in where double tracked. Great pole plant, fast and flat conditions in 25 degrees. The parking lot had the most cars and trucks in it I have ever seen! Great to see people enjoying winter. Carpe Skiem.

Fantastic conditions today with a trace of new snow groomed into the base with perfection! Definitely worth the drive up from Milwaukee.

Classic skied all 4 trail segments on Friday afternoon. Pine (blue) first. Oaks (red) second. Birches (green) third. Maples (yellow) last. The first 3 segments had shallow but decent tracks set. Maples was packed but did not have any tracks set. It was my first time skiing at Reforestation Camp and really enjoyed it!

We had an excellent ski today. Skied the yellow and green trails. Great base with about a half of an inch of new, powdery snow on top. There was very little debris on the trails. Just a few spots where you could see a little ice under the new snow, but nothing horrible. Temperatures were good for skiing and the extensive tree cover protects you from the wind. I had last skied here decades ago and had forgotten what a nice trail system it is. There aren't any big hills so it is a good place to ski early in the season.

Good conditions! Skate deck was freshly groomed with new (though) shallow tracks cut for the striders. Best skiing of the season! Light snow falling in the area tonight will help cover some of the thin spots, you will not be disappointed to make the drive the the RFC. Carpe Skiem.

I classic skied The Oaks Trail -- simply a beauty of a trail -- under a bright sun and cold (2 degree) conditions. Tracks holding up. No bare spots. I spoke with the groomer he groomed the entire skate deck and it looked it! Skaters were treated with flat and firm conditions. The groomer will not touch the course 'til January 2 in the morning. Let's hope for more snow next week. "The Camp" is in very nice shape given the amount of snow we have had.

1-1.5" of freshly fallen cold snow on firm skate deck made for slow, but fun, skating. The classic tracks remain well defined providing striders great conditions today. The light snow that fell this afternoon will insure great skiing throughout the holiday weekend. Pers Loop is clean and in nice shape and the hills of the Maples are fully covered with firm pole plant throughout. Enjoy. Carpe Skiem.

Cold, firm base in 0 degree temps. Skate deck holding up really well, classic tracks look OK. Trails are fully covered with some wind debris forming in the usual spots. With warmer conditions and maybe some light snow predicted for tomorrow, skiing should continue to be good to very good. Carpe Skiem!

Mid season conditions with some recent fresh snow groomed in to perfection. I skated but the tracks were in great shape too. A few brown spots showing through. I used "B" skis but didn't need to. Definitely worth the drive.
