[ Rock skis ]
Skated the Purple lots of small rocks and gravel brought up from pole plants. No base so rock skis only, many places where skiers push off exposed bare ground. Think Snow!

[ B skis ]
Classic skied, beautiful, bright sunlight, blue skies -- purple trail well covered, no obstacles, maybe a 2-3" base. No set tracks, snow soft, groomer working to improve conditions. Great to be on skis, more snow would greatly improve conditions. Overall rating 5/10.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Just finished a delightful ski on 6 inches of fresh snow at Greenbush. There was a well skied-in classic track by the time I arrived, which made for some enjoyable kick and glide through the Northern Kettles. Groomer was just getting started ahead of me as I was finishing my last trip around the Purple Trail. Looked like it was putting down a 2 inch base. Hopefully we will pick up a couple more inches this week and things rolling again at Greenbush.

Observation
Rains on Sunday night into Monday combined with freezing night temps left a thick layer of ice throughout all of Greenbush which was followed by an inch of heavy snow. The flat area around the shelter, all ski trails and the inside bike/hike loops have solid ice topped with an inch of snow. No grooming (not enough snow most likely). I opted to run the inside bike/hike loops as skiing didn't look to be an option.

[ Rock skis ]
Skied inner parts of purple, green, and red trails from the upper lot this morning. Trails had 3-4" of fluffy snow and they have not been rolled. While any morning on skis in the Northern Kettles is delightful, there is no density to the snow and the rocks will come up and grab you on the downhills. If you ski Greenbush, I would use rock skis and caution.
