Trail Reports

2016-2017 season
Reports 11 to 20 of 72    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec

9" of new snow that was groomed this morning was expectedly soft and slow but enjoyable. Did brown and purple trails and on the second time the skating trail was faster. Tomorrow it should be fantastic. It was a very scenic experience with the sun glistening through the snow laden branches of the forest as you can see from photo.

Some but not all trails were groomed today. Very nice conditions but some deterioration showing. The downhill on the purple trail by Bear Lake heading to the marsh has bare spots. I don't advise using purple in this section.

Groomer just went through this morning. Trail conditions are very good for skate skiing. Icing and ground debris on classic trails. Worth going out one more time!

I skate skied purple, green, and red this morning and conditions were great. The groomer was out this morning touching up the skate deck. The classic track looked good. By late morning the sun exposed sections of the trails were getting softer. Enjoy!

Just got off the trails. I did complete loops for pink and red, and just the first part of purple/green. Conditions were great! Trails will diminish in quality as temps rise above freezing.

Greenbush was great today, with enough snow for a classic track! The tracks were very fast, slightly glazed. Get out there before the next thaw. A little debris, but overall very good. All trails were groomed except black.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were groomed for skate. 90% of the system has classic track set except for some of the pine sections because of debris and thin snow. I will be using "A" skate skis tomorrow however the tracks are thin and buried branches are everywhere so use your best judgment when choosing classic skis.

Just got a call from my brother who is skating Greenbush trails right now. Tony just groomed all trails after about 3 inches new snow. Skating conditions are very good.

There is still lots of ice and icy snow on many portions of the Greenbush trails, but it is unskiable. A few good sections (10%), but not worth it to get to. The most important thing is keeping the most of the frost in the ground, and the icy base and hope for more snow. Winter isn't over yet and today is the last day of the "false spring of 2017.".
