Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Washburn Silent Sports Cross country ski trails are in very good condition. This is uphill on Judy's loop. No dirt showing and minimal leaves and sticks. I did not ski from Judy's loop up herringbone to the Washburn Lake road trailhead. No tracks have been set. I was using a pair of A- skis. Toko blue 1:1 with x-cold powder was very good. Cover all skin as it's damn cold out.

Trails were groomed today. You could probably use your good skis. Coverage is good. Base is good. Just a few thin spots. No tracks set. Skiing was best its been!

The skate deck was worked over today trying to mix the new fluff with old snow. With the low temps, the trail should reset itself in no time at all. Conditions are probably borderline "B" skis/good skis. The deck is not exceptionally thick.

Pretty good conditions. Trails were regroomed today. Trail is still wavy from lack of snow. Coverage is mostly good. Occasionally saw some rocks poking through, but you could avoid them pretty easily. No tracks set for classic.

The trails are surprisingly good for the amount of snow we had and the short time to roll and groom the snow. The skate deck is a little soft in places and there are a few sticks poking through but I skied 19K without problems. Watch out on the steeper hills as there are thin sports you have to dodge here and there. I would recommend B skis and overall it is awesome early season skiing, thank you groomers!

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The skate deck was set today. The snow that we received was fairly dry, and grainy, therefore the deck is not in mid season shape. A few dirt spots did arise today, so be aware of that. The deck will be a little bumpy, again due to the snow not compacting as we had hoped. Our plans for setting classic tracks are on hold for now, again because of the type of snow we have. Other than that, skiers should have a positive experience...especially for it being only Dec.13.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We received 8-9 inches of snow today. The trail was rolled and we have a nice base. Tomorrow the skate deck will be set, and the plan is to set classic tracks on Friday.

Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Bare ground ]
The trails were rolled this morning. The deck is extremely thin, with grass, sticks, and roots visible. At this time we would not recommend skiing on the surface. Its too rough for even rock skis. This was our first trip on the trails, and there was only about 3" of snow to work with. Like a lot of trail systems, we waiting for more snow. As we get more snow we will be compacting.
