Grooming
[ B skis ]
Groomed the skating lanes on all loops today. Very hard 2" base. Did not do anything to the classic lanes. Some dirty spots and debris in places to contend with. Conditions are fair. It is currently snowing lightly. I will plan on grooming tomorrow if we get measureable snow. Still worthwhile to ski these trails.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Bare ground ]
Conditions: 1-2 hard packed, no recent grooming.
I recommend only B/rock skis at this point. There are several areas of thin spots and a few rocky areas on the north yellow trail. The second downhill after the north overlook (not the first) and pass the 2 mile marker is downright dangerous down the middle with two huge rocks that could completely damage ski bases and cause a skier to have an accident. Go slow there or take off your skis on that downhill.

Grooming
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Some snow, but winds have kicked it around.
A dusting of snow Friday and possibly Friday night with high winds will prevent us from grooming until Monday. We'll be out to touch up skating lanes and while not a lot of snow is forecasted, if there's more to work with, we'll reset track.

Grooming
[ B skis ]
Conditions: I groomed the skating lanes all loops this morning. The surface was very hard packed, only about a 2 inch base. Starting to have a noticeable amount of debris on the trails in places. A couple of dirty spots showing in places. Nothing done to the tracks.
Skating lanes on the yellow, red and green are in fair to good condition. The tracks on these loops are in fair condition. The brown loop is fair for skating and classic.
Conditions do not look to improve in the near future. Nothing but lack of snow to work with.

Grooming
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Touched up the skating lanes on all loops this morning. The skating on the red/green and the yellow is good, a couple thin spots starting to show, the classic is mostly good maybe a little icy in spots. The skating on the brown is fair, classic is poor. There is only a 2-3inch base. Unable to do anything with the tracks until more snow.
Conditions about the same as earlier this week.

Morning

The trails at Zillmer are mostly in good condition. Brown is a little beat up from the ski/hike/snowshoe event over the weekend. There are some spots where grass is sticking through, but it's all avoidable. Groomer Reagan has been doing a lot with a little. We could really use 4-5 more inches to level out the skate deck. Let the pictures tell the story.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Mostly very good.
Classic Monday at Zillmer. Tracks are very good on most of the course, with a number of spots that are only good because of grass or dirt poking through or leaves caught. Downhills at far northeastern end of Yellow are boilerplate. Skate deck was very good with the only problem area on the Yellow just before the 4.5 mile sign, where there's a low area that has a mud spot as well as vertical husks sticking out of the snow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: 2-3"+ hard packed base, pine cones in the pines.
Most of the trail system at Zillmer is in great shape, with just a few thin areas and a some pine cones in the pines. Groomers have done a great job and made the system quite fast despite the recent cold. If you happen to see a handful of pine cones, please help the groomers and throw them off the trail, thanks.

Conditions: Skating has been excellent every day since we finally got enough snow for grooming!
A huge thank you to the Rangers who have been grooming the trails.
