We just skied the green and blue at Hartley. The green was pretty well used, lots of washed out track areas, some debris, and icy in other parts. It was softening as we skied. The Blue was in much better shape yet still washed out on many corners and tracks gone in some places too and debris. The areas in between the tracks were like hard concrete with barely an edge. If it was colder, parts would have been very icy.

Well groomed tracks, not many skiers have been over the trail system as of this morning. The tracks are surprisingly smooth and deep, neither bumpy nor icy. However, the snow is very aggressive, and to maintain good kick throughout my ski. I definitely needed that thin blue klister base under my hard wax that I was too lazy to put on. So I had a good initial 2 K of kick when I still had all my wax, and then a nice double pole workout after that. Corners are not yet rutted, and pine material and oak leaves in the tracks are insignificant enough to be mainly cosmetic issues.

The trails are recently groomed and in stellar shape. Rock hard tracks and firm firm pole plants. Nearly enough moon light to not need a headlamp!

Good conditions at Hartley today. 2° with hardly noticeable wind in the woods. Classic tracks were holding up pretty good with a couple corners starting to wear out and occasional leaves or needles in the teack.

We literally unintentionally followed the groomer into the trails at Hartley. Great fresh tracks, lots of skiers out there, firm pole plants, no debris. 20F with really whipping winds that made me miss all the gorgeous trees that used to shield us from the gusts. There are a few eye whackers sticking out on the right side so be aware. My Rode liquid colder wax worked great in this stuff, thanks for the rec Speedy! Get out there before the vortex!

Fresh layer of snow was just groomed this morning. Groomer finished this morning around 10:30. Great skiing before the temps drop!

It's fluffy, but there was sufficient snowfall last night to put quite a bit of snow in the tracks. Already several users at 7AM so both tracks will be skied in today, but with the amount of snow that fell, I think that tracks remain sloppy until the trail gets groomed again. But no pine needles or oak leaves on the trail at all - hopefully that continues.

I love the sound of gliding skis in an inch or two of freshies. That was this morning at Hartley. Nice, deep track with that fresh snow swooshing sound. Sweet. Swix V20 base with Rex 30GB over the top gave awesome kung-fu grip!

Perfect tracks. A bit of fresh snow (just a dusting) slowed the tracks down at 7AM, but I'm sure that continuous use throughout the day will keep them fresher even though it is continuing to lightly snow. I accidentally grabbed my son's skis this morning instead of mine (I outweigh him by 20 lbs so the skis were a bit draggy). In these slower circumstances, staying in the tracks all the way down the final hill of the outer loop into the hard right turn wasn't even a challenge. No leaves in the tracks. No pine needles in the tracks!
