Piedmont groomed. Watch for ice just past Lovers Leap at Piedmont. Slow going after this last warm up. We will work on grooming the rest of the system as the week progresses.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Good coverage but tracks are getting really worn. There is a very small (but likely growing due to weather) flooded part just past Lovers Leap. It may look like slushy fun to blast through but it's actually solid ice. Take 'er slow crossing it.

The trails were very nice. A lot of people were out. The weather was nice and warm. The tracks were pretty good, but you could tell a lot of people had been using them. The signs they have are fun to read.

Had heard the tracks were in good shape and they still are. Tracks are washed out on the steep downhills, since it's been a while since grooming/snow, but intact elsewhere.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I classic skied all the trails in the early afternoon. I thought the snow and tracks were quite good. There was a very little bit of bare ground and grass showing through in a few spots. The snow was mostly powdery and firm and gave good grip for climbing and the descents were not icy. The tracks had a little glaze in them in a few (sunny?) spots. I saw very few other skiers. Fun, Fun, Fun! Thanks for the grooming.
