Beautiful! Freshly groomed today, with a packed base of at least eight inches. Snow is almost crusty so the track is firm and fast.

Piedmont trails today are clean and fast with a couple of icy spots. I chose to avoid Lover's Leap due to ice on that loop. The one-way longer return loop on the way back to the parking area can be skied, but prepare to hit the brakes and proceed gingerly around an icy stretch at the bottom of the hill. Most skiers will probably just want to take the two-way trail back to the parking lot. I was at Piedmont on March 5 when the trails were not fit for skiing due to storm debris on a hard-packed icy surface. Today skiers could use their good skis. Hats off to the groomer. The tracks are set perfectly but were slick just now in the noontime sun. A kid on his lunch break from work flew past me using long poles for double poling.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Piedmont has been groomed. Piedmont has a couple large patches of ice. One on the lovers leap loop and the other on the bottom of the large hill if you take the one way back to the parking lot. The two way back to the lot is clear of ice. Should be some great spring skiing this week as temps stay on the cooler side.

Wonderful day. Beautifully groomed. Sweater skiing weather. Evil Kneivel hill and other lightning bolt hills were fun.

Approximately 8" of fresh snow this weekend on top of fresh snow from last week and conditions are excellent in Duluth. Piedmont trails groomed Sunday. Conditions are perfect.

Trails were groomed mid-afternoon Wednesday and are in great condition! I skied the main loop but not the expert side loops. Trying out new skis, I lost my balance and fell twice on downhills but had a good soft landing with all the new snow.

Piedmont skate lane groomed. All of piedmont groomed well. There is an icy spot on the lovers leap loop that is a bit of a mess right now due to grooming equipment having trouble crossing the ice.

Conditions were fantastic! Solid, semi-deep tracks everywhere and barely any dirt showing anywhere. Great ski!

Skied in tracks with 3" of new snow. A lot of people out skiing and parking lot full. It was 5 above and snowing. Our skies were gliding good.
