Trails surprisingly good on a thin layer of snow. Extensive grooming yesterday and this morning resulted in a very nice skate deck with 80% of the system open. That said, the woods areas are not as good as the upper fields and lower prairie loops. Recommend B skis. Groomer plans to groom again this evening to set up for Sunday.

The trails were regroomed this evening and look to be in good to very good condition. They should set up tonight. If you want corduroy, get there early.

Had a great time getting out for first ski of the year. Pleasantly surprised at the good conditions. Western loop and wooded area not groomed, but probably 3-4 miles is. Jerry always does a wonderful job grooming. Just a few spots with grass poking out, mainly on steeper Hills, but didn't see any rocks. This a hidden gem with a cool microclimate.

Very nice early season conditions. About half the system is open: upper fields and lower prairie areas. B skis are a good idea until we get more snow. Amazing grooming job with just a few inches of snowfall!

Surprisingly the skate skiing was good to very good over most of the groomed sections. It will be worth the trip for anyone going there. There are some thin spots to be aware of, but almost all the trail is over grass with almost no rocks.
