Grooming Scheduling [ Trails Open: All, ]

All ski, snowshoe and bike trails were groomed today and were in great shape. We've been getting steady snow all evening that will continue into tomorrow affecting trail conditions. Due to the fatbike demo tomorrow, ski trails won't be regroomed until Saturday afternoon. Also, if you're coming to WinMan to ski or snowshoe tomorrow and don't plan on participating in the fat bike demo, please use the Papoose Lake Road parking lot (.3 miles east of W).

Regroomed the skate lanes on most trails and that greatly improved conditions. The trail is still fast but not scary fast.

Groomed and cleaned up the rest of the ski trails today - lots of debris and downed trees in the hardwoods, not too bad in the soft woods. Went for a ski this afternoon and conditions are pretty marginal - what was groomed last night froze back up and was difficult edging and what was groomed this morning was not much better. May try grooming tomorrow to try breaking it up again but conditions won't drastically improve until we get more snow - which may be as soon as Thursday.

Warm weather, rain and wind followed by dropping temperatures created an icy crust covered with lots of branches over the entire trail. We groomed and cleaned the western loops (2.5 k and 6k) tonight and set a shallow track. We were able to break up the crust and blend it with the snow below making a decent surface. Coverage is still really good. Tomorrow we will work on the rest of the system.

Freshened up the ski and snowshoe trails this morning - the new snow we picked up last night groomed up nicely. Skate skied the 10k loop after grooming and conditions started off nicely but got progressively softer - not surprisingly with temperatures in the 30s. The next couple days look the same so recommend getting your skiing/shoeing in early. No plans on grooming the fat-bike trail until Tuesday when temperatures become more winter like. Have a great Christmas.

Trails nicely groomed while a light snow was falling. We skied the 7.5 K loop and it was nearly perfect! This place is a gem. Looks like they are building a warming hut. No cost to ski but we will be sure to donate to the warming hut.

Skijored almost everything today and though there's some really good sections, there's also some really poor sections. Until we get more snow (maybe tomorrow) I don't recommend skiing the far east section of the 10k loop. There's also a wet section at intersection V that has flowed across the entire trail. It's likely to freeze up overnight (1 degree right now), but it'll be a little sketchy until we get more snow.

Groomer crew did a nice job with what they had to work with. We classic skied without track for 1.25 and found very little in the way of exposed rock, ground, stickers, etc. The rest of the Lakeland Nordic Ski Team skated. Good B skis conditions and with a little more predicted could be even better.
