[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Excellent conditions. 22km groomed today. Unexpected blizzard last night dropped another 2-3". Made for slower skiing in the morning but sub zero windchill skiing in dry fresh powder on April 6th? Unreal. Fun skiing nonetheless. At lunch 10km of skate trail groomed than track set on 12km of trail. Everything should set up nicely and be fantastic skiing rest of the day and Saturday. We will plan on grooming the fat bike trail Saturday afternoon or early evening. Enjoy!

Great day on the trails! Fantastic conditions for skiing and fat biking. Temps in the 20's and snow most of the afternoon accumulating to a couple of inches. The skate trails and twin lakes singletrack for fat biking groomed late afternoon. Jonell and I skied after grooming and snow moved back in with another inch or so of fluff. Another cold night on tap with temps near 0 should set everything up nicely for Friday. We will ski the classic tracks in tomorrow than reset select tracks late morning. Skate lanes should be good for Friday and Saturday than regrooming planned for Sunday morning. With temps continued to below freezing through the weekend, should be some great skiing and fat biking. Enjoy!

Excellent conditions! Track set this morning on Sukkerbusk, North Loup and also double tracked JibFly. Snow was dry and cold, temp in the mid teens. Early evening grooming on Sap Run with track reset. Skied late afternoon as temp continued to drop. North Loup skied amazing for not just April 3rd, but any time of the year. Just enough granulated snow mixed with the new snow to make for fast conditions but excellent kick. Temp was 12 degrees at end of ski. Reports from the skaters were good. Deck was firmer than yesterday and skied very well. With temps forecasted to be near 0 tonight, everything should set up even more. Sun could come out tomorrow, best skiing will be before 1pm. Touch up grooming as needed tomorrow evening and Thursday morning. Also groomed the fat bike trail this afternoon and should be nice riding in the mornings on through the weekend.

Again I was lucky to be first on at 2:30 after the morning groom. The twice groomed snow had settled nicely on the firm deck, making skating pretty fast. North loup and Skaters Waltz are in mid winter prime! I made an attempt to crust ski on Bullhead lake, found the new snow just a little too deep to get speed. It's always a late season treat to explore the many ponds and lakes while gliding fairly effortlessly on the crust! The classic tracks looked in great shape, also having been groomed this morning. Those of us not wanting to let go of winter after having it come a little later, will skiing have this week maybe even later.

Morning
Firsthand: Both Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
This morning groomed the skate trails Skaters Waltz, Single Green and Suicide Hill, making two passes mixing old corn snow and combing new snow from the weekend. Set track on Sap Run. Skated few hours later, deck was silky smooth but a bit soft. Hard to believe early April with cold dry snow. Later afternoon we went out for a classic ski with the family after a couple inches of new snow had fallen, skiing Sap Run and Sukkerbusk that had been skied in from other skiers. We were testing some new Salomon ski skis and they were working great. This evening I will be back out combing Skaters Waltz and North Loup. Tomorrow morning will set track on Sukkerbusk and North Loup and combing the skate lanes again if the snow that is falling now continues. With cooler temps this week, we should have some really nice skiing in the mornings. We will groom daily on the above trails until Friday morning.

About three inches of fresh powder in the morning with sunshine. Did Sukkerbusk and Twin Lakes several times. When the fresh snow got sticky after noon, did a nice snowshoe hike on the lake, enjoying the snow and the sunshine. Excellent Easter recreation, hope to be back in April.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
5-6" of damp new snow past 24 hours making for winter wonderland conditions. Last night we groomed Skaters Waltz, mixing a dusting of new snow with corn snow. Set up hard overnight than started snowing again this morning. We made a couple passes on Skaters Waltz again than went skiing. Skied in continued snowfall with another 4" falling over 4 hours and 50km of skiing. Early evening Jonell and I went back out grooming Skaters Waltz again. Temp held at 32 all day and slowly starting to cool down a few degrees as of 9pm. Skating should be awesome in the morning before it warms up. With warm temps forecasted tomorrow, we won't be grooming any other trails. We will be saving the snow until it cools down later in the week so we can have better skiing in April. We will continue grooming Skaters Waltz and North Loup for skating as long as we can into April...May?

We groomed the skate lanes on North Loup and Skaters Waltz this morning, renovated the top inch or so than setting new structure. (No new snow overnight as forecasted) A ski later morning found some of the best conditions of the year! Incredibly fast but enough loose for great edging and control. So fun. Checked the tracks but they were still icy and fast that had been groomed two days ago. Track groomed earlier in the week not quite as icy. By mid afternoon it cleared and the tracks started to soften, making for great spring skiing. We will touch up Skaters Waltz this evening. Everything else is holding out good that has been recently groomed and should be nice skiing on Sunday. Once again, hard and fast in the morning than softening as day passes. If cloudy, the softening takes a bit longer. There is great coverage on the trails we are grooming now and no thin or bare areas. I have been using "A" skis with no issue. Enjoy!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Another inch or two of new snow the past 24 hours. We groomed around 20km of trails this morning, 10km of skate trail and 10km of classic trail. Grooming mixed a combination of dry and wet corn snow into the dry damp new snow. Everything groomed out mostly perfect, just be a bit slower skiing the rest of the day with warmer temps and partial sunshine. Should freeze again tonight and be really nice spring conditions in the morning. We will refresh the skate trails either tonight or tomorrow morning. Enjoy!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
The new snow from yesterday groomed in nicely with the corn snow in the existing base. Skiing was fantastic for both skate and classic until it got a bit slower in the afternoon. Froze down hard last night and conditions were incredible this morning, especially for March 21st. Mid morning snow moved in with almost a inch of fluffy powder. The new snow will be fun to ski in until it warms up. We will groom the same 20km of trail we groomed yesterday, tomorrow morning. Ben groomed the fat bike trail last night during the transition of damp to freezing and set up hard. Fantastic riding this morning. Please fat bike in the mornings the next few days. Ski trails open all day on spring like conditions. Get out earlier for consistent faster or wait until later for consistent slower. Enjoy!
