About three inches of fresh powder in the morning with sunshine. Did Sukkerbusk and Twin Lakes several times. When the fresh snow got sticky after noon, did a nice snowshoe hike on the lake, enjoying the snow and the sunshine. Excellent Easter recreation, hope to be back in April.

5-6" of damp new snow past 24 hours making for winter wonderland conditions. Last night we groomed Skaters Waltz, mixing a dusting of new snow with corn snow. Set up hard overnight than started snowing again this morning. We made a couple passes on Skaters Waltz again than went skiing. Skied in continued snowfall with another 4" falling over 4 hours and 50km of skiing. Early evening Jonell and I went back out grooming Skaters Waltz again. Temp held at 32 all day and slowly starting to cool down a few degrees as of 9pm. Skating should be awesome in the morning before it warms up. With warm temps forecasted tomorrow, we won't be grooming any other trails. We will be saving the snow until it cools down later in the week so we can have better skiing in April. We will continue grooming Skaters Waltz and North Loup for skating as long as we can into April...May?

We groomed the skate lanes on North Loup and Skaters Waltz this morning, renovated the top inch or so than setting new structure. (No new snow overnight as forecasted) A ski later morning found some of the best conditions of the year! Incredibly fast but enough loose for great edging and control. So fun. Checked the tracks but they were still icy and fast that had been groomed two days ago. Track groomed earlier in the week not quite as icy. By mid afternoon it cleared and the tracks started to soften, making for great spring skiing. We will touch up Skaters Waltz this evening. Everything else is holding out good that has been recently groomed and should be nice skiing on Sunday. Once again, hard and fast in the morning than softening as day passes. If cloudy, the softening takes a bit longer. There is great coverage on the trails we are grooming now and no thin or bare areas. I have been using "A" skis with no issue. Enjoy!

Another inch or two of new snow the past 24 hours. We groomed around 20km of trails this morning, 10km of skate trail and 10km of classic trail. Grooming mixed a combination of dry and wet corn snow into the dry damp new snow. Everything groomed out mostly perfect, just be a bit slower skiing the rest of the day with warmer temps and partial sunshine. Should freeze again tonight and be really nice spring conditions in the morning. We will refresh the skate trails either tonight or tomorrow morning. Enjoy!

The new snow from yesterday groomed in nicely with the corn snow in the existing base. Skiing was fantastic for both skate and classic until it got a bit slower in the afternoon. Froze down hard last night and conditions were incredible this morning, especially for March 21st. Mid morning snow moved in with almost a inch of fluffy powder. The new snow will be fun to ski in until it warms up. We will groom the same 20km of trail we groomed yesterday, tomorrow morning. Ben groomed the fat bike trail last night during the transition of damp to freezing and set up hard. Fantastic riding this morning. Please fat bike in the mornings the next few days. Ski trails open all day on spring like conditions. Get out earlier for consistent faster or wait until later for consistent slower. Enjoy!

Couple inches of new snow overnight is being groomed in this morning on the skater trails of North Loup, Skaters Waltz (bypassing Kamikaze hill), Single Green and Suicide Hill. New track to be cut on side of North Loup and double track on Sukkerbusk. These above trails still have excellent coverage with a compacted base of 4-8". Snow depth in woods ranges from 4-24". With temps in the 20's and dry snow, should be special day of late season skiing! Roy's Run will also ski well for classic skiing. Use caution if skiing other trails not mentioned as a few thin areas now exist on south facing segments. Enjoy!

Grooming

Great couple days of spring skiing despite intense sun thinning the base in a few areas. Late this afternoon we groomed Sukkerbusk and Sap Run setting one new track and also groomed on Skaters Waltz renovating and structuring the skate lanes. Get out before 11am for consistent fast skiing or wait until 1pm for consistent slower skiing.

Mild March temps, and plenty of snow and sunshine made for a fun ski. We were on the trails from 5pm-7pm. Roy's Run was in great shape, having been groomed earlier in the week. Jay was out with his grooming gear, still making ski trail magic. So nice to have professionally groomed trails late in the season...thanks, Jay!

Great spring skiing conditions! Warmer day yesterday was good for breaking the snow down to one consistency. Bit cooler today after a hard freeze last night had the tracks and skate deck faster longer but softening mid afternoon. Pretty much ideal spring skiing. A classic ski on the outer trails at noon found the tracks in very good to excellent shape on Twin Lakes and Roy's Run. Bit more broken down in areas on the inner loops but still very nice skiing. Reports from the skaters today were good. This early evening we renovated and structured the skate lanes on Skaters Waltz, North Loup, Suicide Hill and Single Green. The Twin Lakes singletrack for fat biking is in fantastic shape, velcro like surface. Much wildlife on the move including trumpeter swans that can be heard and seen flying above the trail system. Trails will be open this weekend for day skiing and fat biking. Please ride before noon if fat biking. No lodging or services available in the main lodge.

Temps continue to remain cool keeping the base deep and late season skiing fantastic. The track skiing is very good but also just as good in the off trail skiing. This afternoon I did a back country touring ski with metal edge light weight fish scale skis on the ungroomed ski trails to link to area lakes and ski through the woods. The base is solid and able to support. Along with the new snow on top now transformed making for really fun skiing. Late afternoon skaters waltz was groomed, freshening up the skate lane. We will most likely not reset any tracks this week but the current sets are well defined and holding out great and should last nicely the rest of the week. Skate deck grooming will continue on Skaters Waltz and North Loup this week on into the weekend.
