[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Good to excellent conditions. The trail system groomed up nice the past few days. Temp swing of 50 degrees made the snow hard and crunchy in some areas but grooming pulled up drier snow deep in the base on the classic trails and reports from skiers today all good. The skate deck is super fun, just enough new to mix with the frozen granulated to provide a really fun surface to glide on.

Despite temps in the mid 40's today, the snow and trails held out great thanks to low dew points. Jonell and I rode part of the fat bike singletrack late afternoon to check conditions and found the deck solid. A ski on the main trails later found everything looking great. A few areas glazing over, naturally, but the skate deck was looking really nice and tracks were fantastic. So nice to be recreating in the warmer temps!!. Grooming on tap for the morning to bring up drier snow and mix in any new.

Grooming

Fantastic conditions. Dusting of new snow overnight. We groomed the skate only trails including Suicide Hill this morning after the fresh snow last night. We only groomed a couple classic trails, leaving the dusting of new snow on top to insulate the firm, well defined and rock solid classic tracks that are skiing great and were subject to -24 temps yesterday morning. The classic deck should weather any warm temps tomorrow better than opening the base and allowing warm air to penetrate into the base. The trails will be open tomorrow, regardless of the temps but latest forecast looks to be cooler now anyways. The fat bike conditions are the best of the year, many locals opting to ride and waiting for temps to warm up before skiing again. Entire ski trail system on tap for grooming Thursday and Friday. Fat bike loop grooming planned Thursday night.

Fantastic conditions. Incredible frost scenes this morning than fell to the trail making for silky smooth skiing. Over 80km of trail open for skiing, fat biking, and snowshoeing. The ice rink and sledding best condition of the year. Great weekend of winter play on tap! Touch up grooming as needed Friday-Sunday.

3-4" fresh snow on Saturday. Grooming this morning on the Section course for tomorrow's races, working into the existing base and pulling up a little frozen granulated snow. Trails groomed up very well and should be fantastic conditions for the racers tomorrow. Basic cold glide waxes and hard waxes seem to be working well.
Following trails will be closed tomorrow during the racing 10am-2:30pm: Sap Run, Mother North Star, and JibFly, Skaters Waltz/Suicide Hill. All other trails open for skiing. Recommend to ski Sukkerbusk to the left to access the western and Northern trails. Lunch available for sale. No day skiing charge tomorrow.
Powder on top of firm deck on North Loup skate lane and Skaters Waltz extension. Classic trails not recently groomed have the new snow on top of firm deck and have been skied on and very nice skiing. The entire trail system will be re-groomed Wednesday-Friday.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We groomed the two separate section courses this morning for the teams training today and marked the key intersections with v boards. I skied half of the skate course before lunch and found fast conditions but just enough texture for good edging. We had some wind yesterday that scattered organic forest matter in some places on the tracks but overall the skiing is great. Not icy, firm renovated transformed snow. We will be grooming the majority of the trail system Thursday through Saturday.

Skied most classic trails over the weekend and conditions were good to very good for all the trails. They do a great job of grooming and the tracks are very firm. And as usual the food and unlimited hot refreshments made for an overall very enjoyable weekend.

Excellent ski conditions. Dusting of new snow past 24 hours. Not icy. This morning the skate course for sections was groomed, keeping the deck fresh and textured. We have been grooming the skate lanes pretty much daily keeping the snow fresh despite no new snow for over two weeks. The timing of the transition groom 10 days ago has paid big dividends for good skiing since that one warm day. With cold nights the base is staying firm and established, there is no risk of softening with daily grooming. We have had no melt freeze cycles since the one day 10 days ago. Over lunch skied both the skate and classic. The tracks are skiing very well, personally the best of the year, regular hard wax working good. The skate lane is firm and fast but enough texture and structure for good edging. We will be grooming daily this week on until the weekend.
