After years of light snow, it was refreshing to see all the natural snow trails open. The "real" snow was groomed to perfection on the classic tracks and with just a few spots where long grasses were exposed on the Nature Center Spur and a couple places on the Hyland Lake Loop. Skate deck also looked good throughout but I did not ski them.

Skied everything. Lake, Hill, North, Nature and handmade. Track set and firm. Freestyle is a little soft, but great. Nature trail is showing some grass and there are some workers doing a project at the top of the hill which is messing up the trail a little.

Winter wonderland at Hyland with the foot or so of fresh snow! The Lake Trail was in great shape for skating, completely clean and safe for good skis - and remember that the lights extend around the Lake Trail so it's a great alternative to the snowmaking loop for early morning or late night skiing. No classic track on the Lake Trail just yet, but good classic tracks on the snowmaking loop as usual.

Skied on the made-snow trails from 9:10 to 11:30 or so. The snow was not icy, despite the weather. It was still relatively hard-packed as well. The Boulder Ridge downhill had no icy spots, and not even much snowplowing. The uphill was still pretty compact when I got there, and was fairly soft when I left, but still not slushy. The only slush was on the top section of the long gradual hill from the overflow parking lot. Overall, the conditions exceeded my expectations after days of warmth and temps in the high 30s during my ski.

Man made loop was in great condition for skating, though a little sugary on some of the uphills. I ventured off and tried the lake loop, and it was probably 60-70% fair conditions, with the rest bring borderline unskiable. There were maybe a dozen sections where the trail only had minimal coverage (and it was ice at that), though in all cases I managed to navigate through without stalling or killing my skis. Most of the trail is good, so I'm happy I escaped the crowds and tried it, but without more snow it won't be long before the lake trail needs to be closed.

Soft but overall good conditions. Tracks solid, rex gold klister was kicking well. Boulder ridge was good up and down at around 830am.
