Skied the North Trail / Lakes / and Boulder Ridge. The lake trail was fine but thin. I cut through to an icy base frequently, but I didn't see anything that would damage my skis.
Boulder Ridge downhill was scraped down to a hard base as well. The north trail was in great condition skiing on natural snow. The groomers are giving us a great place to ski.

Hyland manmade was in primo shape tonight. It was very fast, but still plenty soft for nice long glides. I don't think the type of wax really mattered all that much. No sugar or mashed potatoes. I didn't encounter any icy sections. By far the best skiing I've had there this year. Oddly, hardly anyone was out there this evening. Unsure about the natural trails.

I stayed on the snow making loop, and it was in the usual fine shape, slick and fast. Stepped aside a few times for the high school meet racers, the meets this scheduled this week as well as next.

Skate skied 3 laps of the full 5k snowmasking loop between 8:30 and 9:30 this morning and it was in very good condition. Nice grooming. No icy sections or churned sections yet. Classic tracks looked good too.

I went to Hyland at 10:00 am and found the trails to be heavily used and highly variable. I made an attempt at the natural snow trails but turned back after going over a very icy stretch down the first hill towards the lake; just off the man-made loop. Parts of the man-made loop were nice, others were hard, icy, bumpy and/or churned up. Honestly, some stretches looked like they had not been groomed. Based on my own experience and what I observed, I'd say your view of Hyland will depend on how good of a skier you are. Some people seemed to be fine, others were desperately fighting for balance and control. I was one of those. I gave up after one lap of the man-made loop and headed home to go for a bike ride.

Skated all the man-made trails except Boulder ridge, and they were in great shape, though there is a huge rut in the Boulder ridge bypass that took me by surprise. You can avoid it, just be aware.
I also skated the north trail and the lake trail. The north trail was mostly solid, with a couple icy patches - really enjoyable, and great to get away from the crowds for a few minutes! The lake trail, on the other hand, was pure ice, and I wish I'd turned back since it was borderline dangerous. I'd stay away from the lake trail for now, at least.

I stuck to the man made loops - they were in very good shape. I talked with a couple people along the way - one stated the lake trail wasn't worth the effort - another stated that the trail out toward the nature center was about as good as the man made loop. Boulder Ridge was an icy slope - good training for those of us late wave birkie skiers.
