Notes

A great hilly trail system completely in the woods. Because of the woods, the trails hold their snow better than most.

After being somewhat disappointed at Lebanon Hills (south of Pilot Knob) due to lack of grooming, we were very happy to ski well groomed Terrace Oaks. These were the best conditions I have experienced this year and I would highly recommend this park. The hills are exhilarating and the trails are in fantastic shape.

Skied the orange loop today for my first time on skis this season. I had forgotten how hilly this is! The classic tracks were smeared in the places where you'd expect them to be. There were some oak leafs but not too bad. There was debris (bits of bark or decayed tree) at one spot but it was easily avoidable. No ice.

Good coverage, a few leaves. Looks like it was groomed earlier this week. Classic tracks throughout, though a little shallow and washed out in places. A little walker damage on the skating lane, but not bad. Beautiful day for a ski.

Freshly groomed, relatively firm, good speed. Skied all the loops, a little debris and leaves, overall excellent coverage. This trail system is a wonderful and challenging alternative to Murphy.

Well groomed for skate with nice corduroy. A little soft and oddly sloped in a few areas but the outer trail (about 5.5 km) was 95% excellent. The classic tracks looked good. One small infraction from a dog-walker and his/her dog.

While there is plenty of snow on the trails it hasn't been groomed in a while. There were 2 of us on the trail and we made the only ski tracks. There were other tracks made it snow shoes and sneakers. Classic tracks are not really set.

Hardpack base with 2 - 3 inches of fresh snow on top. Did not run into any ice anywhere. Not freshly groomed but skier tracked with full coverage. Lightly used. Very sheltered and wooded so would be a good option for a cold and windy Super Bowl day ski.

Morning

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Awful conditions. Quite treacherous...and to top it off all the dog walkers have left a lot of droppings.

Morning

[ B skis ]
Skied one loop this morning and quit due to dangerous and icy conditions. Between the ruts, walkers footprints, ice and uneven grooming, skiing was functionally not possible. I would not recommend this trail today.

Observation
[ Trails Open: Most ]
I'm assuming the trail is open all the way around. I went to terrace oaks this morning to ski a different trail - I felt it was unskatable - hard and icy with no edging. The pathway down to the trail was equally dangerous - lots of ice on the path.
