We were able to make the repair on our PistenBully and push out the remainder of Trail 18 this afternoon. We now have .8k of open trail. We will be continuing to push out more snow on the east half of Ridgeline Trail which will extend Trail 18 to Four Corners and with that will have about 1.25k. Stay tuned, this should be open soon.

[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Great to be out on skis again! Several dozen skiers out early afternoon on the southern half of Trail 18 where there is a good base from the snowmaking. Mostly quite good, just a little bumpy (or I just haven't gotten my ski legs fine-tuned), a little soft on the uphill and just a few minor icy spots developing on the curve at the bottom of the downhill, but no complaints. At least a half dozen snow guns working, looks like the Ridgeline and part of the Green Meadow Trails. The ski season is upon us (hopefully!).

I calculated a 395 meter loop just behind the new Trailhead building. There were around 20ish people on it between the hours of 6 and 7 am with some taking off and new ones coming on.

Great loop. Solid deck. You can ski with your best skis. Lots of skiers out and the Trailhead building is getting a lot of use. Early skiing at its best!

Fantastic early season conditions! Solid classic tracks and speedy skate deck. Can't remember a November 13 with -3 degree wind chill, let alone a 400 meter ski loop. Kudos to Isaac and the trail crew of kicking off the season on the right track!

[ Trails Open: Partial ]
Snowmaking operations have been going well, in fact so well that we are ready to open a short 400m loop for skiing! The loop is behind the Trailhead building and flows past the maintenance building (see Stadium 18 on the trail map). Stop at the Trailhead building and get your trail pass then take the back steps to get up to the loop. Snowmaking continues on the rest of Trail 18 and Ridgeline Trail. Enjoy the early November skiing!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails: Closed, Rock skis ]
I skied on the golf course off trail. It was amazingly bad skiing, even by early November standards. The insulating layer of snow has allowed what frozen ground there was to thaw, meaning there is both suction from the slush and friction from the grass. It was like ski bounding with 2 by 4s strapped to the feet. Couldnt even double pole down steep hills; had to stride and even that was barely possible. Enjoy!
