Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Partial ]
An inch of rain yesterday/today. Trails are 100% saturated and with the 20 degree low tonight will make for extremely icy and treacherous conditions. If snow does fall later, there may be a chance of grooming, but it does not look good for that. I hope you enjoyed the grooming the last 10 years...I will retire this summer! I'll keep skiing in my retirement!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Six inches of new snow. Groomed all skate lanes before 10 am and set track on right (3 passes with 84" groomer on outer loop). Groomed the middle cut-across trail (two passes) and set track. Did not groom the interior classic only trails due to drifting and forecast. Excellent conditions where I groomed.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied at Larson with two friends, all thought conditions were really good! A bit faster than most days of skiing as it was hovering around 30 degrees, where many days this year have been in the 0 to 15 degree range. Tracks were solid both underneath and the sidewalls of the track. Several others were skiing there too with 5 cars in the lot, but we rarely saw anyone out on the trail. Very good conditions.

Great conditions, skate deck is firm and the tracks looked good. No debris on the trail. Finally a slightly warmer day. Best conditions of the year.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
1.5 inches of new snow since last grooming. Groomed all skate lanes today that had an inch of powder over a firm deck (2 passes with 60" groomer and set track on right on third pass). Re-groomed lower inside classic tracks were more drifting had occurred over the last 10 days. Upper inside classic trails are in good shape from last grooming. Excellent conditions.

Skiing at Larson Lake was very good. Some spots on the inner loops were covered with wind blown snow, but the outer loop tracks were mostly unaffected by recent dustings or the wind. Skate deck had an inch or two of new snow, but appeared to be very skiable (at least on the outer loop). The trails have been well maintained all season -- kudos to the groomer!

Nice day to ski with clear skies and temps in the low teens. Trails were recently groomed with a bit of fresh fluff on top, the tracks were well formed and firm. Very little debris, great skiing experience.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Two inches of snow since last grooming. Groomed all trail segments. All inside classic trails have tracks set. All skating lanes were given one to two passes followed with final pass setting track. Some drifts from Sunday's wind storm that made for challenging grooming. Finished grooming at 4 pm, unfortunately about one inch of snow fell after grooming.

Conditions were very good. The Arboretum trails were groomed very well on Wednesday, but then the snow and wind blew enough snow in the trails to make them average on Thursday. Larson did not see any effects of that snow and wind and were in much better shape. Solid track on the bottom and walls of the track - and decent speed with the heatwave of 17 degrees today. Well worth the trip!
