Trail Detail
Notes
Trails are on the golf course. Some nice hills but most of the course is pretty exposed. There is one back leg that is quite shaded and seems to hold snow long after the rest of the course loses it. Rentals at the chalet.Trail Reports

Classic tracks were set, but very icy conditions, and not much kick possible. Downhills were very icy and rutted. Hoping some new snow will help.

Conditions at Como were as good as I've ever seen. Plenty of snow and sun, the groomers have done a great job of creating a smooth wide trail around the golf course with a very good and solid skate deck and well-defined rails for classic skiing. No bare spots or ice, really fantastic spring skiing.

Got to Como at 10:00 AM, just as the PistenBully was pulling off the trail. The skate deck looked awesome but classic tracks were very shallow, 1/2 in or less in the sun, a little deeper in the shade. There was one small dirty spot on the Glacier, on the stretch along the zoo, easy to avoid. There were also some refrozen puddles, which the groomer creatively circumvented for classic and skate, either by going around or creating a shortcut. I did not ski the western part of the trails, can't guarantee what it's like there.

Groomed Como cross country ski trail today. Skate deck turned out decent. Unfortunately the classic trail is between half an inch to 1 inch deep. Warm weather along with the freezing temperatures at night. Making it a challenge to groom. Overall, everything is still a go. Bring your good skis!

It felt like straight up spring on the trails today. Surprisingly well covered, given it was all slush and some glazing. I was able to easily skate the whole loop as everything was soft enough but it was not an easy ski with all the hard wet crystal snow. Happy the trails are holding up but we may be in for an early end if we don't get colder or some snow.

Fast! When I started at 4 p.m. there weren't that many braided V-marks over the corduroy from this morning's grooming, but there sure were when I finished! Conditions were so fast I ended up doing 7 laps, while barely getting my heart rate up. There were minimal icy spots, other than one obvious frozen puddle on a flat spot that was easily avoidable. Even the crest of the big down-hill by the downhill ski hill was fine as long as you stayed towards the center. Classic, I heard from others, wasn't so good because of icy tracks. Skating ruled today.

Snuck in a quick ski before work as the sun came up at Como. Very good conditions. The groomer had just made a first pass, creating some freshly starched corduroy, and the classic tracks looked clean, deep, and equally fast!
