Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed all trails except Lake Loop and Devils Run which we packed with tracks due to all the new snow and hills. Conditions are good with a 7" base should set up well for grooming and tracking Friday. Set track on one side on a couple of trails, good for tradition and skate skiing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Good condition with 5" base all groomed and tracked, Lake Loop and 9-Mile are not tracked but groomed. This was due to lack of snow last week when I set track this should set up well for next week when I set a track on these sections. Everything looks good enjoy the warmer temps. I would get morning skiing in for better conditions.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All you skaters take notice. The trails have been rolled but not tracked as there is still not enough snow to set a track. If you enjoy skating this trail like I do, now is the time! There are numerous spots where dirt is mixed with the snow but that didn't pose any problems for me. I only have my "A" cold skis with me so I had to use them. They were not damaged. I skied the east and west trails first and then the east trail to the nine mile trail and back up to Parking Lot 1 on the west trail. The deck was a little uneven but still enjoyable. It is not possible to skate these trails once a track has been set.

Conditions fair with 2-3" base with some debris in areas with less snow coverage. Groomed today but need at least 6" of snow before I can set track.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Conditions are fair, need warmer temps and snow. Plan on grooming tomorrow on Thursday the 4th but still need more snow. We have a good base but have some debris in some areas. We have not set track yet this season due to lack of base which is 2". We have completed removal of all blow-downs of trees and limbs on Dec 14th. Happy skiing!

Not well groomed but skiable. Would like tracks set wider on uphill skate sections. Some slightly grassy areas but no rocks.

Very enjoyable ski. No tracks but fairly uniform, well packed base. A few patches of grass/dirt showing but mostly very well covered. Nice to see this great trail system getting some professional, early season grooming.

I'd estimate 10" to a foot of snow in the trail surrounding Chequamegon National Forest woods. When I arrived at 10 a.m., the trails had been rolled but not otherwise groomed. About 2 inches of fresh snow overlay the rolled surface. There was skier set classic trail on all trail segments. As I skied, the groomer arrived and went to work. By the time I left the entire system was a freshly flattened, rilled skate deck like surface. Skiing on the skier set track and even the flat groomed surface was quite good. The grooming is scraping down to grass/dirt in places and there is small twig and branch blown down debris in the track. It's a beautiful trail.
