[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I classic skied The Oaks Trail -- simply a beauty of a trail -- under a bright sun and cold (2 degree) conditions. Tracks holding up. No bare spots. I spoke with the groomer he groomed the entire skate deck and it looked it! Skaters were treated with flat and firm conditions. The groomer will not touch the course 'til January 2 in the morning. Let's hope for more snow next week. "The Camp" is in very nice shape given the amount of snow we have had.

1-1.5" of freshly fallen cold snow on firm skate deck made for slow, but fun, skating. The classic tracks remain well defined providing striders great conditions today. The light snow that fell this afternoon will insure great skiing throughout the holiday weekend. Pers Loop is clean and in nice shape and the hills of the Maples are fully covered with firm pole plant throughout. Enjoy. Carpe Skiem.

Cold, firm base in 0 degree temps. Skate deck holding up really well, classic tracks look OK. Trails are fully covered with some wind debris forming in the usual spots. With warmer conditions and maybe some light snow predicted for tomorrow, skiing should continue to be good to very good. Carpe Skiem!

Mid season conditions with some recent fresh snow groomed in to perfection. I skated but the tracks were in great shape too. A few brown spots showing through. I used "B" skis but didn't need to. Definitely worth the drive.

Beautiful, great pre-Christmas skiing today under a clearing sky and 18 degrees. Many happy faces including the Bay Nordic and Ashwaubenon Nordic Skiing teams training. Skate deck was near perfect with solid pole plant, classic tracks showing wear. Carpe Skiem.

Beautiful snow clinging to the trees. There was just enough new snow that was just packy enough that the old tracks were visible but unfortunately the packy factor caused the new snow to compress into the tracks unevenly---lots of ankle rolling. We were there quite early on the Oaks (right lane hadn't been skied at all) so maybe more traffic will even things out somewhat, but wont be a dead flat classic track til regroomed/retracked. Still fun!

Early evening skiing, 28 degrees, light snow coming down on a slick trail that could use a couple of inches of new snow. Hopefully we pick that up tonight! Classic tracks remain set though slightly washed out. Many skiers out tonight including a large high school group enjoying the Lighted Trail. A beauty of a night. Carpe Skiem.

Night
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Conditions were firm and fast with only a few bare spots. Classic tracks are set well and were firm and fast but filled with quite a bit of debris tonight. Skin skis were less hassle than going out with kick wax.

Amazing that in the course of 7 days we have gone from virtually no snow, to packed and firm conditions. Fast skiing tonight in 21F degree, windless conditions. Skate deck was firm, classic tracks holding up. Forecast calls for more snow tomorrow! Carpe Skiem.

Good early season skiing continues, a few, easily avoidable thin spots. A nice base is forming hopefully reinforced by more snow later in the week. Enjoy. Carpe skiem!
