Reports 16 to 25 of 72    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Just got off the trails. I did complete loops for pink and red, and just the first part of purple/green. Conditions were great! Trails will diminish in quality as temps rise above freezing.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Greenbush was great today, with enough snow for a classic track! The tracks were very fast, slightly glazed. Get out there before the next thaw. A little debris, but overall very good. All trails were groomed except black.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were groomed for skate. 90% of the system has classic track set except for some of the pine sections because of debris and thin snow. I will be using "A" skate skis tomorrow however the tracks are thin and buried branches are everywhere so use your best judgment when choosing classic skis.

Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All ]
Just got a call from my brother who is skating Greenbush trails right now. Tony just groomed all trails after about 3 inches new snow. Skating conditions are very good.

Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Partial ]
There is still lots of ice and icy snow on many portions of the Greenbush trails, but it is unskiable. A few good sections (10%), but not worth it to get to. The most important thing is keeping the most of the frost in the ground, and the icy base and hope for more snow. Winter isn't over yet and today is the last day of the "false spring of 2017.".

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
The brown and the red trail were groomed today and in very good condition. The green trail is skiable but a little icy. The purple is rather dirty and doesn't appear to have been groomed this week, not very skiable. The trails look like they will hold up for at least a few more days.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
Greenbush trails are fast but very skiable, just watch out for the downhill's and skip the Pines. Terry did a great job grooming, thanks man. Tracks are icy.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Started at 10:30AM, the recently groomed trails were in excellent condition; fast and controllable. The purple/green section, after the split from the red, had not been groomed and was in poor shape. The back section of the purple was groomed and in excellent condition.

Grooming

The brown, red, and pink trails were groomed today for fast skating and will be kept groomed until the warm up sometime Friday. Areas in the pines remain weak an somewhat dirty. Classic tracks are shallow and icy.

Jeff Welsch did an outstanding job grooming up the Brown and Red trails for the NKMN Storm Middle School/High School team practice. Coverage was adequate over 99% of the trail, with only a couple of areas on the hill tops of the Red requiring extra caution to avoid large dirty, gray spots. Good control on the downhills and good glide going up. Brown was in better condition yet. I used backup skis and left the good ones in the bag - there were exposed areas of dirt and sticks on some areas, and lots of pine needles and cones in others. All things considered, it was much better than I expected! Thanks again Jeff and the Greenbush Grooming Team!
