About as good as Nordic skiing can get. Firm, fast, perfect corduroy! Get out there now before temps warm up.

Skied all the classic loops a couple of times. Tracks were yesterday's set plus skiers track in the fresh powdery 5" snow that came last night. Result was a smooth deep powdery track that gripped well with a soft yet fast glide. Extra Blue worked well in the 18 degree temps. Not rocket fast but fun. Skate desk was powdery on top of a firm base. No tracks in the west woods loops. Beautiful day at the trail formerly known as Fox Hill.

All skate lanes will be re-groomed this morning, but the classic tracks will be left intact. Parking may be very limited this afternoon with a snowshoe event planned.

Another fantastic morning at CLCF on fresh cord thanks to Jerry! The skate deck was somewhat on the soft side with a dusting of cold, fresh snow but really nice conditions overall. The classic tracks looked firm and fast. By the time we left, the parking lot was nearly full as lots of people were out enjoying a beautiful winter day. Excellent coverage everywhere, use your best skis.

Took a couple a fine afternoon laps around all the classic tracks. Tracks were newly set and a little soft where I was the first one to go. Approximately 2/3 of the system is set for classic. They improved greatly as several skiers helped pack things down. Quality went from good to excellent in short time. The entire trail system is freshly groomed today and in great condition for skating or classic. About 5" fresh last night groomed on top of a very nice 3" base made for excellent conditions.

Skated these trails Thursday for first time. Narrow and technical, reminded me of learning to ski at Paul Walkers Goat Farm back in the early 90's, it's like skiing on someone's private trail. Was impressed and will definately return...with a shorter pair of skis in a soft flex. Feel the trail could use a little better signage. I had to ask one of the locals how to get back to parking lot. There were some tracks on prairie loop, tracks in the hilly areas were thin and mostly washed out from my observation. Thanks to dedicated skiers and groomers who make this trail possible.

Firm skate deck, only soft in a few pockets. Great coverage throughout and the trails were getting a lot of use. More snow on the way and temperatures should remain cold to keep it around.

Took a late afternoon classic ski on really good tracks. The tracks are well set through about 2/3 of the total Fox Hill trail system. The skate deck is in prime condition. The Fox Hill microclimate is in full swing with last weekend's 8-10" packed into a 2-3" base. Add Last nights 1-1.5" dry powder dusting groomed to rocket fast conditions at 12 degrees. Groomed to perfection.

An inch here, an inch there, constant grooming and now we have very good, solid skate deck at what used to be called Fox Hill. The softness the past three days is gone, except on the edges in a few places. I used B skis on the western trails and race skis on the Meadow and Prairie trails (east), but others were taking race skis everywhere. Good classic track on most of the eastern trails. This should last for awhile!

It was a fantastic day to be out and the trails were in great shape. We skated and it was predictably a little soft in spots but excellent overall. Even the woods were in great shape. Classic tracks were set and were being used by several striders. Use your best skis anywhere.
