We did get out and lay down a fresh skate lane and track pulling the Tidd Tech this morning. A few headaches at the trail end/start on Sundstein Rd with warming temps but don't let the gate conditions deter you. Based upon the skate lane tracks the 2nd pass today with the Tidd firmed the trail up with very nice results. Saw a few happy skiers out there with their thumbs up. We always love that!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trail has been rolled, combed and tracked over another 6 inches of new snow. Higher winds made for challenging grooming with drifting over 4 feet at the bridge at muskrat creek. Plan to groom again tomorrow with the Tidd Tech to pack down and smooth out some of the drifted area.

If there is such a thing as perfect skiing conditions, today had to be close. Recent grooming of the last combination of snow and freezing rain made for a fast and firm skate lane and track. The superb glide on the trail made skiing seem almost effortless.

Refreshed the skate lane with firm corduroy. Classic tracks are in good shape from earlier grooming so they were left alone except for the wind blown section north of Mud Creek Bridge where they were reset. Prime conditions throughout!

Skied the entire trail mid-day. A fair amount of debris was down, particularly on the south end of the trail. Tracks were very firm, skate deck was hard but very fast, with just enough bite to make ya fly.

Went over the skate lane twice to scratch the surface and blend a bit of new snow. Surface remains hard but skiable. Left the tracks alone to allow the trace of new snow to get skied in. There are a few stretches with concentrations of debris but, overall, conditions are fairly decent considering our recently completed thaw/freeze cycle.
