Laddies Loppet Day 1 Coverage
August 30, 2008Maplelag's big stage race, Laddies Loppet, kicked off Saturday with a morning time trial and late afternoon short track events. Doug Swanson put his stamp of the events, topping the mens Expert field with tightly contested victories in both the time trial and short track event. Jenna Zander and Kyia Anderson dueled through much of the short track womens race before Zander pulled away in the final laps. Earlier in the day, Kyia Anderson lead a mountain biking skills clinic that proved quite popular. Racing action continues on Sunday with the big cross-country events on Maplelag's famous singletrack course.
