This team consists of motivated middle school and high school students that desire to excel in local races and Junior National Qualifiers. The position is from October 2020 - March 2021 and it will include up to 6 sessions per week and additional race days. Glacier Nordic Club has a 40-year history in the ski town of Whitefish, Montana. Our mission is to instill a life-long love of cross-country skiing. We have a robust infrastructure with over 230 youth in our ski team programs. Minneapolis Southwest High School is seeking applicants for the position of Head (Boys/Girls) Nordic Ski Coach for Winter 2020-21. Southwest has a strong tradition of competitiveness in Nordic skiing including a state runner up finish in 2019-20. Qualifications/requirement include: successfully lead, develop, teach and provide a positive athletic experience for interested athletes grades 7-12. Program head should have a comprehensive knowledge of the sport of Nordic Skiing and be willing to meet all/any MSHSL & Southwest coaching requirements. Supervision is required on all school sponsored transportation. Team practices a Theodore Wirth Park. Head coach is also responsible for planning and overseeing all practice and race schedules.
