City of Lakes Loppet Fat Bike Races Coverage
January 31, 2021The City of Lakes Loppet held their first weekend of events, Jan 30-31, pulling off a wide range of activities from kids races to the Luminary Loppet to skijoring. We caught the fat bike races on Sunday morning. In the 29 Fat Tire Loppet, Steve Marshall edged out Joel LaFrance by just eight seconds for the victory, with Christopher Stevens taking third. Sonia Pond won the women's division (and was 12th overall), with Leah Miller second, Jill Beskar third. Champions of the 16K Puoli Fat Tire Loppet were Bob Thompson and Elizabeth Yray.
