Fall Conference Followup

Greetings;
I want to apologize for the delay in getting a letter out to the membership but wanted to finish the cross country season before looking ahead to Nordic.  This year with the start of the season being pushed back a week, cross country running coaches actually get an eight day break!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the coaches who attended the annual fall meeting at Mora on Saturday October 23rd.  Despite landing on MEA weekend, I thought attendance was outstanding.  66 coaches representing 47 school were in attendance.  A special thanks to Dave Johnson for setting up and organizing the vendor fair.  Twenty-five vendors participated and the general consensus from coaches and vendors in attendance was that they would like to see us continue with an expo again next year.  A big thank you to Wade Webber,  Susan France-Webber and all of the Mora folks for all the help, hospitality and hard work.
Rich Matter indicated that the State High School League will act on our hybrid scoring proposal before the end of the calendar year.  I will send out an update to the membership as soon as a decision has been made.  Finally I would like to thank outgoing president Mike Hecker for all of his hard work and contributions to the Association.  He tackled a lot of “issues” during his two year reign and did a great job of handling things.
Next week as the season begins, we will all start watching those weather reports in anticipation of that first measurable snowfall.  Good luck as you kick off your season and I will see you on the snow.
