Tonight’s (Feb. 29) leap year races were led by Karl Holub in both freestyle and classic races all the way. In the freestyle race, Jake took the lead first until after the “Wall” where Karl made his move. Karl then widened the lead in the second lap and easily won the title. Tim Hieb said he would come for the last ski race series event on next Wed. night. Tim has not missed a single Wed. night race!!! In the classic race, the McKeefry brother and sister started and finished about the same time.

The last race of the season is next Weekend (3/7). This event will be a good tune up for those post-Birkie races. The city helps xc s skiers to prepare for the upcoming POLE PEDAL PANT winter triathlon (10k ski, 7k mt bike, 7k run) held at Elm Creek on March 10 (check www.polepedalpant.com) for teams or individuals. Hope to see you all next Wed. night.
