Snekkevik Update

The Snekkevik is set to run this weekend on Saturday, January 8. Nine Mile currently has good conditions that we hope will improve a bit by Saturday with some expected snowfall in the next couple of days. We are encouraging everyone to sign-up online to help us avoid lines and overcrowding. We intend to have race packet pickup outside under some tents and if we can avoid having to do day-of-race registration, it will aid us immensely. To accommodate this, we will leave the online registration open up to race time so you can register online even from your car in the parking lot on your phone. Please note we had a change in our schedule of events that has moved the 12k skate race until later in the morning to allow skiers who want to do both skate and classic races can do so easily. Also, we will not run the 24k skate race for a couple of reasons including covid precautions and to allow Nine Mile to remain open for public skiing with less interference from the overall event.

Complete race details can be found on our race website at https://www.wausaunordic.org/snekkevik/ . Questions can be directed to [email protected]. We will update course conditions as we get closer to race day on the website so please check that on Thursday or Friday for the latest. We will have a good turnout of High School and Middle School skiers that will run in between the adult races so you can make this a whole family affair if you want.
