[ Trails: Closed, B skis ]
Summer-like temperatures are deteriorating the snow conditions, so this morning we did some skiing and closed the Warming House for the season, and locked the trail gates to prevent motorized vehicle access. There is a lot of snow left on the trails and you can ski or snowshoe if you want to, as long as it lasts - and you can do it in a t-shirt! You might be surprised at how good skiing can be on this spring corn snow, and the trails have been used every day this week.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The groomer went out today to clear a tree that was blocking the trail - and since it's cold today with plenty of snow, decided to do some grooming! The Alternate Trail and the trail past the Camper Cabin have fresh corduroy and tracks. It's very nice right now, but of course will be subject to weather.

Really had a good ski this morning, and I wasn't the only one. The snow base is deep, it's a matter of timing the freeze/ thaw cycles. I was skating, but the tracks are holding up well too - just expect icy early, soft late, and really good if you go at the right time.

The Alternate Trail and Short Loop were groomed this morning for Skating and classic after 8+ inches of fresh snow. Conditions are good but will vary with temperature. Boyd Lane is plowed to the trails. Have fun out there!

Today was on the icy side, but skiable and improving with the afternoon sun. I was able to keep an edge while skating and had a fun ski. The classic tracks are also holding up well as long as you can figure out good grip. I also did some crust skiing on a few ungroomed logging roads. The snow base remains very deep.

Great outing this morning at Timberland Hills. Did the alternate trail, Cervenkas Curl and came back around on the beginners loop. Good solid tracks set on transformed snow. I used tape in the kick zone and had exceptional grip the entire way.

Unbelievably fantastic! Fast with edge, not icy. So glad my ski partner broke down my front door at 7:45 this morning and dragged me out of the house. Still perfect when we left at 11. Way to go groomers!

Groomed for classic and skating this morning: Engagement Loop, Cervenka's Curl, Alternate Trail, Short Loop. Very good spring conditions on the trails that are groomed - there is plenty of great skiing! Watch the freeze/ thaw cycles to time the best conditions. Plans are to groom the Outer Loop on Friday morning.

We received over an inch of very wet snow overnight. Classic skiing was a little on the slow side this morning, but enjoyable. It's too warm and wet this morning to groom, but we are watching the weather and currently plan to do some grooming before the weekend. I was the first one on the trail today, except for one set of wolf tracks and one set of deer tracks.

[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Classic skied Cervenka's Curl to the alternate trail, around on the alternate trail to the "E to B" trail, back to the warming shed, out to Odden's Ridge Run and back, then to the camper cabin and back. The trails to the south of the alternate trail seemed to have been groomed very recently, but everything was in good shape no matter where I went. Looks like the Corkscrew and Odden's are the only ungroomed trails. Some leaf litter here and there, but overall very fast conditions, pretty much double poling everywhere but the steepest hills, tons of fun!
