Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Best line single track every day...a classic delight. The narrow width and clinging snow was absolutely what the day needed after watching Nationals at MTU Trails yesterday. While only 10 k or so in length, it makes the day bright and beautiful. Check it out as the groomers are out nightly, conditions allowing, and make the terrain standout.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All 8k tracked and fairly setup despite warm weather. Tracks are not icy- skins and VR 70 were both working well. Snow is fast and clean- fun whipping around the singletrack.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The lower trail will be closed until there is more stable winter weather. The upper trail, which is accessible from the Archambeau Rd, was groomed on Friday morning. It was in great condition. As only the upper trail system was groomed, we did a lot of loops, but it was wonderful. Used skin skis in this near freezing condition. Snow was very clean except for a few needles near the pines. Track was firm and deep. Highly recommended if you are near Houghton this weekend.
