Today was my best ski of the year. Trail were groomed and firm. Some sections were a bit narrow but met the groomer and his family digging out a second groomer. Snow conditions were excellent and trails were beautiful. Had the place to myself. This is what Nordic skiing meant to be.

First ski this season for my Bemidji area son, so we chose Three Island for its beauty, mostly easy/moderate terrain and great signage (the best I have seen). Groomer was just finishing up grooming skate deck and setting classic tracks on inner loops as we arrived. Deck was firm and tracks well formed, but need to firm up to be perfect. Outer loops not groomed this round, but still in good condition with a minimal amount of new snow. Great conditions. Thanks groomers!
