Most of the double track trails in great shape, but some were windblown, some were destroyed by what appeared to be a tracked vehicle near camping cabin #2. What a beautiful park with it's rolling hills and fun lake and woods views. Some leaf litter in tracks but certainly skiable. Only a lone pileated woodpecker and a few Trumpeter swans joined me in this afternoon outing.

I went here on advice from a friend as he said there were some challenging hills on the north side of the trails...not so much. But it is definitely a beautiful spot. Trails had not been groomed for a while and were pretty chopped up. I'm really pleased to say that I enjoyed myself especially the big smiles from all the other skiers. People out skiing despite their level of expertise; all seem to be smiling even if they are wiped out on the side of the trail. Get out there and get your smile on.

Its been years since skiing here, partially due to lack of snow. Today the ski trails were at their best! Lots of snows, great classic tracks and snow was heavily falling as we skied. This place is a gem just north of the metro. Saw one skier on the hour and half I skied. The warming shelter with fireplace is heavenly So glad we made the stop on way back to Brainerd!

Skied the Big Woods and the Bjorkland Lake Trails late morning into early afternoon. Deeper snow than in the Twin Cities with good coverage and powdery snow. Saw one rock on an uphill and two 8 inch dirt patches that were brought up by the groomer. The trail was a little uneven in places and the tracks were firm to soft and uneven or washed out on some of the downhill corners. Oak leaves in the tracks in some areas. All in all, a delightful ski in the woods on real snow, where I saw a fox in the distance.
