Skied Weber lake to Hoyt Rd. Five of us made classic tracks. Lots of snow. That whole stretch has not been groomed in a while but great outdoor adventure!

Skied Weber Lake to Pence between 11 am and 4 PM. No recent grooming but nice solid base with a bit of recent snow on old tracks. Weber lake loops had moderate snowshoe traffic, but not beyond orange. A bit icy early, slower downhills, easy up hills but actually had decent glide considering temperatures. Beautiful trail, more challenging than many others. Thanks to all the volunteers who made this great day of skiing possible.

Good conditions on Uller. Skied from Pence to bridge just west of Hoyt rd. Pence connector is old school narrow trail. Main Uller west of Hoyt is wider, and more level. A dusting of snow made for a fun ski.

First time on the Uller trail. Lots of snow covering the trees and most of the track was filled in so had to ski it out if I went where the previous skiers hadn't gone. Downhills were fun with soft snow but I imagine if it was icy it might not so fun. You should definitely an experience skier to take on these trails. It worked well to start on the far west end at Weber Lake to incorporate the loops at that end.

First ski of the Uller for the season. Main stem from Hoyt to the Weber Lake loops was in great shape... appeared to be wide rolled then groomed. Weber Lake loops were softer with what seemed more like skier-set tracks. These loops appear to have been groomed previously but perhaps not as recently as the main stem. We observed that the Krankula Spur had been freshly groomed (maybe this morning) but we only observed the part near the main stem so cannot report on conditions all the way to Iron Belt. Snow cover is great, but there are rollers, particularly in low-lying areas. We were joined by some friends who were new to the Uller, and they will be back! We also saw several other parties enjoying this this challenging, remote trail. It is important to note that Iron County now uses a track vehicle to roll the snow on this long trail, which helps out the Penokee Ranger groomers. The rolling helps firm up and even out the trail and make it more forgiving than it was in days of old.

Wow, just wow. We hit peak Ullr. Firm, deep tracks, with an inch of new snow on top, which was a good thing on the old-school, single-track downhills. It skied really well. There are a few pokey things coming up here and there, but generally conditions couldn't have been better on this beautiful trail. This is a really remote trail, so either bring a friend or the appropriate survival gear, because not a lot of people come this way, and if you break a ski/leg, you're on your own. But Ullr is a true gem.

This is the most scenic trail of them all in northern Iron county. Trails were not groomed recently due to the storm but the scenic beauty was our holiday treat! Thanks to the Penokee Rangers for upkeep of the trail.
