The trails were being groomed after a couple of inches of new snow... the trails are great! There is some tree debris, leaves, etc. but otherwise perfect!

Arrived at the Nordic Center at 10:00 am to happily discover that the trails had been recently groomed. The skate deck was firm and fast with virgin corduroy much of our ski. When the sun came out, the open areas were starting to soften, but still beautiful March skiing. Thanks to Luke Olen for getting up early on a Saturday morning to groom (we heard it was 4 am)!

Absolutely phenomenal conditions for the Last Chance Race. The skate deck was slightly icy in one spot, but otherwise was great. Just a little on the soft side with the fresh snow Thursday. Classic tracks looked great, too!

Spring skiing is like a box of chocolates. Better than expected skate in the midst of big snow flakes. There should be a fine course for the Last Chance? Race on Saturday.

I skied the blue Dala trail classic and skated the red Bell Tower trail. We received some 9-10 inches of snow this weekend. Classic tracks were excellent. The skate deck was a little soft from the new snow. It had not had enough time to set up. It should set up better tonight with the cold temperatures in the forecast. The grooming plan is to finish grooming the skate deck on Tuesday evening. Plan to come ski the Last Chance Race on Saturday. Overall, the trails are beautiful with more snow than we have had in years.

Beautiful skiing conditions! Groomer was out as I was skiing, skate deck and tracks being set. Like being in a winter wonderland!

One small loop groomed early afternoon. Classic tracks sets pretty well, but skate deck not quite set. Skiing was a bit slow. The chalet was amazing! Hope to be back soon!

All trails were groomed this morning, only a few spots remain. Entire trail system is in excellent condition. We will continue to groom frequently as new snow falls. One last ski race is scheduled at the Nordic Center - The Last Chance race 10k and 20k on Saturday March 18 10 am.

With a warm Saturday and overnight lows of 3 degrees I was unsure of what to expect early Sunday morning. Was it worth the trip up from St. Paul? Absolutely! Spring skiing - nope, this was mid-winter ski conditions. Minor spots of tree debris in the northern conifers, and only a couple spots on south-facing climbs with a hint of ice that softened late morning, otherwise good edge control throughout. Classic tracks were glazed in some exposed sections otherwise blue wax trails. Happy Trails indeed!

Really awesome skiing conditions with good corduroy to work with with it throughout the course. Perfect temps and trails were well groomed.
