Heartwood's 25km of nordic ski trails and snow shoe trails are in perfect shape! All trails have been groomed and are ready for both skate and classic cross country skiing. Great deals in place for those looking to stay, ski, and train for the Birkie. Heartwood is also open to the public with day passes for $10, $70 for the season, or $170 for a family of 4.

Groomed before we skied so a nice looking trail. It was warm though so the skate deck was soft. Tracks were nice, good snow cover everywhere. Nice job with grooming and trail layout. About 15k groomed for skating with some looping around.

Plenty of snow pack and little used trails = near perfect conditions. No crowds or logging like on parts of the Birkie trail. Some hills but pretty easy compared to the Birkie trail. Good for beginners and experts alike. Cost is $10 payable at front desk of main lodge. Skate deck great conditions. Hidden Gem.

Skied the Main Trail today from the cabins to the lodge. The first section of trail between the cabins and the warming hut is very icy but the rest of the trail was great. Watch out for sticks and leaves if you're using your best skis but hopefully new snow will cover it all.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Heartwood Resort has approximately 25km of freshly groomed trails for skate and classic skiing. We're hoping for more snow to get a better base, but the trails are in good condition. Trails are free to use for all guests (as well as equipment for those who need rental), and the resort is offering buy 2, get 1 free for the lakeside lodge rooms. Otherwise the trails are open to the public with day passes for $10, season passes for $70, or $170 season pass for a family of 4.

Good coverage with beautiful powdery snow on every trail. Skate deck was a little soft. In need of another pass with the groomer. Classic tracks mostly holding up, not perfect. No real complaints. Beautiful couple of days, staying in one of the cottages and enjoying the trails.

Great afternoon with light snow coming down on near perfect rolled trails. A few thin spots were being covered up by the fresh powder. Skied Cottage, River and Main Trails. What a day!
