Trail Reports

2019-2020 season
Reports 1 to 10 of 19    Month: Feb | Jan | Dec

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The skate deck was groomed on all trails and is generally in very good condition, with scattered icy spots. There is one bare spot that is easily avoided. Due to insufficient base fresh classic track cannot be set, so the old track remains icy with some bare areas.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails combed and tracked. Skate deck and classic track in good condition, but very soft as the grooming went into warming temps. Tonight's set should make for good skiing in the morning.

All trails combed and tracked today. Skate deck in very good condition. Classic track generally in good condition with a few shallow and icy stretches. Now is an excellent ski opportunity before leaves settle on the trails.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Rum River Central was combed and tracked today. Skate deck and classic track in very good condition. One segment of trail is now closed for the next few weeks due to a riverbank stabilization project. This segment runs along the river from the power lines north to the boat access. Other loops allow you to easily avoid this stretch, and it is signed as closed at either end.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails combed and tracked. Good pack across the skate deck and full classic tracks, but as temps rise there is some softening. Very good ski opportunity now, and as things set up overnight very nice conditions. If you're comfortable in doing so, please help us in tactfully reminding walkers that walking on ski trails is an enforceable parks ordinance violation.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
My new favorite natural snow trails for flats and out of the wind. A hidden gem! Some poof over a nice base. So far, most walkers stuck to the actual walking trail (amazing, I know). Skate lane looked a little narrow, but I was on classic, so I couldn't make a fair judgment. Only one skater had been out, but seemed able to avoid the tracks. Kudos to the groomers!

Awesome time on trails today with my honey. We enjoyed nice tracks that were set and we went further then we did last week. Thanks Joe for grooming!

All trails rolled today in preparation for combing and tracking Sunday. Trails offer a good skate experience now and should comb out very nice.
