I skated the groomed trails. Given the recent rain and freeze, the trail was fantastic. They were smooth, fast and with enough corduroy to get an edge. There was a classic trail but I was not brave enough to try it.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We touched up all the skate decks and cut new tracks on all the trails except the Outback and Judy's Vista this evening. We will groom these remaining trails in the morning. We lost a lot of snow this past week. However, we did not loose our base, so we were able to scarify all the ice and even cut some new tracks.

Surprisingly good skating in 45 degree temps under a sunny sky. This was my first time at The Northwoods and it won't be my last! The constantly rolling terrain winds through the woods and across cedar swamps with very little time speed on the golf course. Super fun track. Great hills if you want 'em. Highly recommend. Also, it offers a terrific sledding hill for the kids. Carpe Skiem!

Skate deck was freshened up yesterday, per the groomer. I classic skied. Tracks were holding up fairly well, and were even somewhat fast given the temps just above freezing. Snow is still quite clean, just a few leaves here and there. Good skis can be used.

Really lovely course, great grooming. Somewhat shallow tracks, but that didn't diminish the experience. Haven't been here in a while, but will definitely come back.

Soft fresh snow but well groomed with picturesque snow on the pines. All trails in good shape. Skate deck not compacted yet with many soft spots. Tracks in good shape.

Recently discovered this beautiful/scenic trail system. The beginning short section in the open area was hard/icy but the rest of the trails were in good condition.

Washburn was re-groomed on Saturday. That got rid of a bunch of the ice. The classic track was reset, but it didn't set up super nicely. It's there and definitely skiable, but a bit shallow and bumpy in many spots. Good skis can be used--there isn't anything in the way of dirt, just some sticks, leaves, and ice.

Trails were in great shape, skated but classic tracks looked good without any dirt or debris. Could use good skis. Trail was a little soft which is to be expected with the new snow.
