We have snow! Wohoo! National Weather Service reported about 9" in portions of Grand Forks depending on the report you look at. The groomer was out and packed the trails along the Greenway but there's still not enough snow to set classic tracks. I'm not from the GF area so might not have the best description of locations but started skiing a few blocks south of 32nd Ave south and then went south to about 52nd Ave before turning around and heading north. Went north to the downtown area before turning around. ( Just under 12 mile loop all told) Open areas exposed to the wind still had a slight bit of grass showing. Trail back in the trees was covered more uniformly with occasional debris poking through but that's to be expected for the first snowfall. Trail surface is still fairly irregular as the snow needs to fill in all the voids and get packed but makes for good early season balance practice. Have never skied here before but it was fun to check out. Would definitely come back. Nice variety of hills and flats.
