Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Got out before the heat softened up the trails, and did all the loops this morning. For the most part, trails were great! A little icy, but not too bad. Some steeper hills had some tracks that were iced in, but I was leaving first tracks on most of the trails!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Ski trails are all in great shape and finally in mid-season condition. Classic tracks are solid and deep. We have a 6-8" base on all trails. All skate lanes were tilled and widened Thursday afternoon. Temps should be perfect this weekend. Get out and enjoy the trails!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trail system received almost 8" of new snow from last weekend's storm. All trails have been groomed and are setting up nicely. Classic tracks are starting to collect some oak leaves from the high winds. I hope they can reset the classic tracks for the weekend. Very nice day to ski as the forest provided lots of protection from the breeze.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
I stuck with the skate deck on the main trail and enjoyed 100% trail coverage with minimal debris. Light fluff from the overnight. While the base is not hardened, it had decent depth, and I was not afraid for my skis. It's a solid B skis right now and not far from race skis.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trail signs were installed today and all skate lanes were groomed. Skate lanes are good to very good with 2-3" base and almost 100% coverage. Classic tracks are shallow and in fair to good condition. Use your good skis if you can avoid a couple dirty spots. Portable toilet has been delivered for your use. Please wear your mask and observe social distancing in the parking lot when other skiers are present. Really nice conditions considering that we have only about 8" of snow.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
A glorious day for the first ski of the year--22 degrees and sunny! 4 inches of new snow on Saturday, and first tracks of the season set on Sunday. Very good conditions, although there has been significant usage already. Glide was excellent on the fast tracks, and skating deck appeared to be firm. Although there are dedicated snowshoe trails, snowshoe tracks were noted on the skate deck at various places. There were a few spots where the track setter dredged up some dirt, but they were short and easily avoided. There was no tree debris, although there was some curious stubble in the tracks on the latter part of loop D. For some unknown reason, You Are Here maps are no longer located on their posts. Skiers unfamiliar with the trail system might want to take a picture of the map board at the trailhead on their phone for reference at intersections.
