Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Best ski for me in a long time at Sugar. Track was a bit icy and my 50 wax got ripped off eventually. The skate lane was phenomenal.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed all trails except Atomic run this morning. We were able to set a full depth classic track and level the skate lane. For Saturday and Sunday morning this might be the best sugar has been in years. Enjoy, this may be the end of it.

Cleared three trees off trails. Combed Long, Snag, East, Thunder to Rajala, and Rajala. One inch new snow, track and skate good condition, fast.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Skate skied Long Lake Loop and Snag Loop. Base was firm, with the latest snowfall providing sufficient edge control. Caution: One medium size tree down on return loop just beyond the Rajala run intersection (at bottom of the second hill)! Too big for me to move. Snag Loop was in better condition. Again had good control on downhills and sufficient snow for skate control. Had to avoid tracks in the skate lane from ski use in the previous softer conditions. Overall, good late ski conditions with the cooler outside temperatures. No bare spots.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
Great slush skiing with kids who are not as fussy about perfect conditions. Trail mucked up by non-skiing adults who came for Open House at the new trailhead building and enjoyed a short walk on the trails with little kids.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed all trails for skate and classic. I couldn't put the cutters down so the classic track is variable in depth.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We did a pass on the skate lane on all trails. Classic track is still pretty good, so we left it alone. The trail system is in very good condition, gets better with each grooming pass.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Cut and comb skate lane and left track alone as a half inch of fresh snow had fallen. Trails in very good condition and fast. Cleared blowdown tree by Leo’s bridge. Gator broke down, brought in to zoo to fix.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We groomed all trails today. The skate lane came out very well considering the layer of ice on top. The classic track will be half depth but mostly good. Be careful on the downhills, it's going to be fast.
