Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We had Stone Gate Loop all to ourselves on Sunday morning for a glorious ski. The side by side classic tracks are so great to support social skiing. The hills were pretty messy with animal tracks and we took a couple of tumbles, but avoidable if you step out of the tracks on the way down. Wheeee!

Pine Knob was in great shape for classic and the skate deck also looked good. Stone Gate was a bit soft for pole planting, but a lovely trail and day to glide through the woods!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Observation
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skied the stone bridge loop Christmas afternoon. Grooming looked like it was great just a couple days prior, before the heavy winds. Tracks were still there in many places, and somewhat blown over to very drifted over in other areas. Track on the first third had been broken in by another pair of skiers, but their tracks veered off towards the lake at some point. Most of the leaves seem to be buried under the snow already but there were many sticks blown down onto the trail, but avoidable. Skating looked doable if a little slow. Overall still worth getting out. Entrance road and pine knob looked like they were also open.
