[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Sunday brought 5 inches of new, heavy snow. Groomed and set new tracks. Spring skiing doesn't get much better than this.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The polar vortex has receded! Slight dusting of new, dry snow. We reset the tracks and touched up the skate deck with the groomer. Base is holding up well, flattened out some drifting edges in the open sections.

Grooming

Got on the 2" of new dry, fluffy snow with the roller and screen drag. Set new tracks, and retextured the skate deck up to them. Base is building up--good skis will be fine.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Good News: Beautiful trails thru the pines and birch. The usual few pine needles but very nice skate skiing. Long flat runs and enough hills to get a workout. B+ to A- skis. The classic tracks could probably use more snow for a deeper track. Bad News: Two large Newfoundland type dogs harassed me at the beginning with semi-threatening behavior.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Rolled and screened 2.5 inches of new, fluffy, dry snow. Set new tracks, but they may still be a little shallow near the pine plantation areas. Base is building up slowly.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Two inches of new, wet heavy snow. Rolled, dragged and set tracks. The moisture from the new snow sank into the base, and colder overnight temperatures should set the trail up nicely. Tracks are a little shallow under the pine tree sections.

[ B skis ]
Good cover except a few thin spots with some grass. Soft track sides. Firm skate deck. Beautiful trees covered with rime ice.

Rolled and packed the new 4 inches of dry snow. Set about 3K of tracks, but they are shallow. Still building a base, but generally decent skiing.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Rolled the 5 inches of new snow over well frozen ground. Trails were mowed late in the fall and wooded sections were widened a bit. Not enough base to set tracks yet, but the coverage is good to start skiing on as the base is building up.
