Trails were groomed this afternoon. It might be the last grooming of the season. Enjoy it!

Portage was groomed on Friday entirely and again today where the heavy drifting had occurred over the weekend. All trails should now be open and ready for skiing.

Started at the Lake Street access.
Trails had been groomed before the last snow and the classic tracks had been used and were in good condition in most places. Exception was along the Mississippi backwater stretch, where there is some drifting, and around the ball fields.
The skate lane was not bad in most places either, even with the dog and boot tracks, although I would start at the Lake Street access, and avoid the Park Loop. I skated the railroad grade loop, which is groomed back southwest much further than is shown on the map, and returns back to the main trail close to the Lake Street parking spot.

From park staff: Trails were groomed Tuesday but there is a lot of debris on the trail from all the wind. If you are out there, please pick up debris if you see larger pieces. We won't be able to cover up all the debris until we get more snow.
