Pinehurst is a smaller but hilly loop of about a mile; good place for some repeats for sure. Trails were groomed, but a bit bumpy and the snow was cold and soft in some flat parts, so had to watch that my skis didn't dig in deep. Still skiable for a quick workout or easy, hilly ski. No classic tracks set. Some leaves down and one dirty spot, but groomed and packed pretty good. Usually Pinehurst sees a lot of pedestrian traffic, and I was pleasantly surprised that the few footprints of walkers out there on these cold days were off to the side of the trail, so I appreciate the etiquette; it makes sharing of the trails so much better! Hills are tough and Birkie like, but if it isn't your favorite thing to do the up and downs, there are alternative trails that can get you around usually the most difficult part of the hills. You still have to do some climbing, especially notable on the "middle" hill, but it's doable. Overall snow was still a bit slow, but it's the warmest day it's been in over a week, so it felt better than it has, and it was a lovely workout.

I have been advised by the City Parks staff that Pinehurst Park trails have been packed and groomed, for skating and classic.
