Notes

A great hilly trail system completely in the woods. Because of the woods, the trails hold their snow better than most.

Trail Reports

2021-2022 season
Reports 1 to 7 of 7    Month: Feb | Jan | Dec
Friday, February 11, 2022
Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Trails remarkably skiable. There are some leaves and woody debris made worse in areas with tree removal; however, the new sleet/snow provides adequate edging and a fast glide so most of the trail is fine. There are only a couple uphill spots with some gravel peeking through.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
The good: recently groomed and tilled so the snow was softened. Also there are tracks (though shallow). The less good: litter, dirt, a couple of walkers and their dog, tree work nearby. The bad: the tilling dug up quite a few small rocks here and there - on many of the uphills and a couple of other places. I thought at first it was leaf/twigs but then heard and felt a gouge. Hard to avoid on some uphills (hence rock skis); stayed out of tracks going down so I could watch for debris and rocks. Otherwise very enjoyable ski - no other skiers! - fun hills and good glide.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Definitely B conditions. Lots of leaf litter and tree bark in places. Rocks are showing through on hills. Tracks are shallow but the skate deck is firm. Starting tomorrow they will be doing tree work.

Trails nicely groomed for skate with only with a few areas of gravel and woody debris at the surface. Still, enjoyable skiing if you don't mind a few scratches.

[ Trails Open: Most ]
Stopped by here on the way home from work hoping to check out a trail I hadn't been to before. Lots of gravel and sticks. There was one (classic) skier getting off the trail when I was there and I asked her about the conditions: she said it was like that basically all the way around said she wouldn't recommend it. I'm not sure really how she even skied it at all. Need more snow.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Last groomed a couple days ago, skate deck is uneven and soft in many places. No classic track set. Two or three small areas beginning to show dirt and grass, but can be avoided. Several walkers/hikers had been using the trail.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
Packed but not tracked. Photos taken at entrance from west parking lot. I’m assuming all trails were packed but that is just a guess.
